Hi, I’m Katy

(she/her)

I’m a Sport & Exercise Psychologist in training, past nurse-turned-PT.

My work sits at the intersection of movement, psychology and compassionate care.

Movement has always been part of my life. Badminton, judo, athletics. Then rowing, which stuck. Since 2015 I've been on the water, and that passion eventually led me to qualify as a British Rowing Coach.

I live in the Cotswolds with my wife and our dog, and I'm a firm believer in getting outside whenever possible.

I came to personal training via nursing. Years working in the NHS gave me something no qualification alone can teach - a deep, practised understanding of how bodies and minds are connected, and what it actually takes to support someone through change.

I now work with people who want to feel stronger, more confident, and more at home in their bodies. My approach is evidence-based, judgment-free, and built around you.

LGBTQ+ Inclusive. Always.

“I wanted to create a space where people feel genuinely heard, respected and supported.

Without shame, intimidation or unrealistic expectations.

A space where movement becomes something empowering rather than punishing.

I’m very proud to have won the Mental Health Hero category at the Stroud News & Journal Community Awards

For many people, gyms are environments filled with judgement, pressure or discomfort.

That can be especially true for LGBTQIA+ individuals, those experiencing menopause, people recovering from injury or illness, older adults, or anyone who has ever felt like they don’t “fit” into traditional fitness culture.

The Mindset in Motion Psych exists to challenge that.
